- I'm trying to replace the defective telephone wire installed in my new house.
-
- We recently added another line and the crosstalk is terrible. (Typical
- Florida construction standards).
-
- I want to start with a line to my modem (naturally). My neighbor had some
- wire left over from a computer installation and he thinks it might work.
-
- The wire has the following printed on it:
-
- AT&T-D DD 2001 004C 4/24 (UL) TYPE CMP
-
- The only thing that bothers me is that the conductors are all parallel.
- There is no twist at all.
-
- Wouldn't "Twisted Pair" or Type 3 be better for a telephone wire that
- will go 100' through my attic??? Since this line will go to my modem
- I want to keep the line as "clean" as possible and UTP isn't all that
- expensive.
-
- Please give my your thoughts and experiences on this.
